Capella Space Internship Program  

We are excited to offer a 10-week in-person internship at Capella Space, running from June 3rd to August 15th. This opportunity provides students with hands-on learning and valuable exposure to the dynamic fields of spacecraft design, manufacturing, and geospatial imagery. Alongside meaningful work, our internships include a variety of social events and experiences designed to help you maintain a healthy work-life balance throughout the summer. About the Role and Team

As an FPGA Engineer Intern, you will be responsible for assisting in the design, development, and testing of FPGA-based systems for space. You will work closely with the team to implement and verify FPGA designs, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance. This role requires a strong understanding of digital design principles and experience with FPGA development tools. 

 Role Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and development of FPGA-based systems 
  • Simulate, implement, and verify FPGA designs 
  • Troubleshoot and debug FPGA issues 
  • Optimize FPGA resource utilization and performance 
  • Document design specifications and test procedures 
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest FPGA development tools and technologies 
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of FPGA design processes 
  • Support the integration of FPGA designs into larger systems 
  • Assist in the testing and validation of FPGA designs 

 Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field 
  • Experience with FPGA development tools (e.g., Vivado, Synplify) 
  • Strong understanding of digital design principles 
  • Knowledge of FPGA architectures and technologies 
  • Familiarity with hardware description languages (e.g., SystemVerilog, VHDL) 
  • Experience with FPGA simulation and verification 
  • Ability to troubleshoot and debug FPGA designs 
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities

Compensation  

  • This internship will be a 40-hour a week commitment at the pay of $35.00 per hour. An allowance will also be provided to support living costs throughout the program.
