Job description

Duties

  • Manages the Logistic Operations at Stennis Space Center and develops the long-range planning for an enterprise redistribution center.
  • Acts as the center Supply and Equipment Management Officer (SEMO) and oversees, guides, manages and integrates the supply chain operations.
  • Provides expert technical and analytical advice to the Leadership team relating to all matters with logistics and supply.
  • Coordinates communications within the logistics community and supports the agency communities of practice.
  • Coordinates the integration of new technology and or implementation of new supply and equipment requirements.
  • Engages customers regularly and coordinates with the customers to determine their needs and satisfaction level and the matter in which logistics is meeting those needs and satisfaction.
  • Performs a full range of supervisory duties which includes assigning and evaluating work; recommending personnel actions; taking disciplinary actions; and identifying training needs and developing employees.

Qualifications

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

To qualify at the GS-15 level, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level:
  • Overseeing or managing a logistics function for an organization in areas such as: transportation, vehicle, acquisition, disposal, warehouse operations, or inventory management;
  • Implementing or communicating the strategic vision and organizational progress of a logistics operation;
  • Leading or managing contractor personnel and ensuring compliance to project requirements and regulations.
