INTEGRATION & TEST ENGINEER (BUS & PAYLOAD SUB-ASSEMBLIES)
As an Integration and Test Engineer, you will lead the development of manufacturing and test processes of sub-assemblies (sensors, instruments, actuators, batteries, and antennas) used to navigate and operate the Starlink satellite. You will have the opportunity to utilize your knowledge, experience, and creativity to develop novel solutions to ensure the delivery of flight-worthy hardware. You will own the relationship between production, design engineering, and supply chain teams and you will provide input into the design and development of new and existing hardware.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Define and manage assembly flow and test operations of satellite sub-assembly production area
- Enable day-to-day execution of the production area by eliminating blockers, slow-downs, and waste
- Develop and refine manufacturing assembly procedures based on lessons learned and feedback
- Evaluate non-conformances to determine root cause and drive corrective actions to implementation
- Scrutinize current and proposed designs for manufacturability, reliability, and repeatability
- Interface with technicians, specialists, and engineers of multiple disciplines to optimize manufacturing and reliability
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
- 1+ years of professional mechanical design, electrical design, or hands-on manufacturing experience
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Master's degree in an engineering discipline
- Experience with integration and testing of propulsion, thermal, electrical, and/or structural systems
- Experience working with composites and integration of avionics systems
- Documentation and configuration management experience
- Experience writing test plans, and procedures and providing go/no-go judgment and rationale
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated engineering intuition, critical thinking, and comfort with ambiguity
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Some travel to our launch sites may be required as needed, up to 10%
- Must be willing to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
