Python Developer Intern

EchoStar has an exciting opportunity in our Hughes Network Systems division for a Python Developer Intern. This position will be located at our Germantown, MD office.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with team members to gather requirements and design scalable, secure, and maintainable workflows.
• Assist in designing, developing, and testing Python-based applications and tools.
• Support the integration of third-party APIs and libraries into existing systems.
• Participate in debugging and troubleshooting to ensure software quality and performance.
• Document code, processes, and solutions to ensure knowledge sharing and maintainability.
• Explore and recommend innovative solutions or tools to enhance development efficiency.
• Learn and apply best practices in version control (e.g., Git) and Agile development methodologies.

Basic Requirements:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Must have 60 credit hours completed by May 2025
• 3.0 GPA or above

Preferred Qualifications:

• Basic understanding of Python programming and object-oriented concepts.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with web frameworks (e.g., Flask, Django) and/or data processing libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy) is a plus.
• Knowledge of basic software development principles and debugging techniques.
• Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn new technologies.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate ideas clearly.

Compensation Range

Annual Salary: $49,000.00 - $70,000.00
