Job description
Duties
- Oversee, advise, administer, supervise or perform work that drives business processes, implement integration efforts, or execute change management efforts to meet organizational priorities.
- Ensure goals, and objectives are aligned to the NASA and Spaceport strategic vision and are communicated through means including the Business Objective Agreements, a strategic plan and related initiatives, and engagement activities.
- Oversee, lead, and conduct special studies for NASA Programs/Projects and its partners.
- Perform technical activities supporting the management process whether within the context of a line organization, direction of a contracted effort, or management of grants. Work may involve monitoring contractors supporting NASA projects.
- Identify, present, and promote management strategies that aim to improve employee and team performance and engagement. Manage staffing levels, develop succession plans and actively participate in employee development.
- Enable efforts to accomplish organizational objectives by developing and implementing solutions and new approaches to improve productivity, mission results, operational efficiency, and/or generate savings of time or money.
- Perform a full range of supervisory duties which includes assigning and evaluating work; recommending personnel actions; taking disciplinary actions; and identifying training needs and developing employees.

- Current Federal employees must meet qualifications, time in grade, and 90 days after competitive appointment requirements by the closing date of the announcement.
- This position may require a one-year supervisory probationary period.

Qualifications
To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level:
- Leading multi-disciplined or cross-functional teams in support of accomplishing organizational objectives in support of NASA Operations;
- Developing solutions for problems that impact multiple operations areas (e.g. addressing critical timelines, organizational risk, resource allocation, compatibility of systems and/or subsystems, and project performance);
- Developing business models and processes focused on process improvement and enabling mission success.

To be eligible, you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks in a position no more than 1 grade lower than the advertised position.
