Field(s) of activity for the internship

Topic of the internship: EGNOS System Performance Analysis Environment – Evolutions on SBAS performance analysis results publication and data management module

The EGNOS V3.1 System is composed of 39 Remote reference stations, 2 Main Control Centers (hosting in particular the central processing Facilities) and 6 Uplink Stations to connect to 3 EGNOS Geostationary satellites -  All sites being interconnected by a dedicated Real-time Wide Area Network.
The System is currently under deployment and the individual performance of each component as well as the  end-to-end performance shall be continuously monitored during this phase to confirm the configuration of the system algorithms.

The EGNOS System analysis environment is composed of a set of performance tools, processing huge volume of data and producing near-real time analysis and Off line analysis.

With the objective to support the EGNOS performance engineering and demonstrations and during the deployment and on site qualification phases, the development of a specific module has been initialised to provide near real time capability, to interface with existing analysis environment, to select and process existing analysis results, to display, in near real time, dedicated web pages for internal publication with an appropriate security and access control.

The objective of this internship is twofold: To further improve the functions already implemented in the first version of the module and to complement the functionalities, the integration level and the operability of the module to further support the EGNOS V3 deployment and performance qualification phase as follows:

  • To collect the user needs for the specification of the tool for an internal publication inside the Division/Department;
  • To operate the analysis and comparison tools to get familiarized with the analysis outputs and their Interfaces Control Documents;
  • To define the development approach;
  • To implement and test the internal publication using real data from the EGNOS System Performance Analysis environment;
  • To support the entry into operations.
