WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO:
At Rocket Lab, traceability and inspection are paramount to our quality and tracking processes. This role is within our team of Quality Control Inspectors. You will be responsible for ensuring all purchased materials conforms to our high quality standards through technical inspections, documentation is filed and stored correctly, parts are supplied to flight stores and production on time. Training will be provided however you should be comfortable with engineering drawings, understanding inspection reports, administrative tasks, ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines, be well organised, have sharp time management skills and a high level of attention to detail. Day to day you will be:
- Operating a CMM in a cutting edge environment alongside skilled professionals
- Reviewing and recording measurement results
- Communicating results to machinists and engineers
- Manual measurements of features and surfaces
Skills / experience:
- Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing knowledge
- Reading engineering drawings
- Correct gauging methods
- Use of manual instruments (micrometers, bore gauges etc)
- Good communication and a positive attitude
Nice to have:
- Exposure to machining processes and previous experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Mitutoyo and/or Aberlink CMM machinery.
WORK SCHEDULE:
Week 1: 4 days on, 3 days off (1pm- 1am)
Week 2: 3 days on, 4 days off (1pm - 1am)
