As an SAP Costing Support Specialist, you will be using your skills and expertise to provide technical support and guidance for our Finance and Costing systems and business processes. This position requires a proactive, highly motivated individual with an aptitude for critical thinking, problem solving, and demonstrated experience of working with SAP Finance and Costing modules. In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, configuring, and enhancing the SAP Finance and Costing solution, inclusive of Master Data, Transactional, Reporting, and RICEFW. This will include interacting with business and technical resources to resolve issues, identify enhancements, and implement changes in applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on support for SAP costing solution in a program-based manufacturing environment with government contracting costing requirements, including actual labor costing, calculation/application of overheads according to DCAA-approved rate structures, supporting incurred cost submissions

  • Troubleshoot and resolve SAP costing issues in a timely manner, including working directly with business users on production support and releases of new functionality

  • Enhance existing SAP costing functionality to continue to improve and evolve the solution with agile releases of new functionality into production environment

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements and translate them into SAP solution capabilities

  • Develop and execute testing plans for bug-fixes and new functionality to support change control processes

  • Provide training and guidance to end-users on SAP costing functionalities

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest SAP costing trends and best practices

  • Coordinate and collaborate across multi-discipline/multi-organizational teams to understand key aspects of various subsystems, safety/audit requirements, and operational requirements

  • Create and maintain comprehensive software documentation including, but not limited to: Software Requirements, Software User Guides, and Software Test Plans

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a related discipline, or equivalent work experience and typically five (5) or more years of relevant technical experience; higher education may substitute for relevant experience.

  • A minimum of 5 or more years of experience working as an SAP Support Specialist, with a focus on SAP FICO and Project Systems. S/4 experience preferred.

  • Extensive experience designing, implementing, and supporting SAP costing (CO) solutions in a program-based manufacturing environment, specifically actual labor costing and overhead costing

  • Proficient in functional and technical knowledge of integration of S/4HANA Finance (FICO) solution with other SAP modules and with external applications

  • Proficiency with standard SAP allocation methods such as assessments, distributions, and costing sheets

  • Proficiency in SAP Project Systems to support labor and overhead cost capture

  • Familiarity with SAP Cross-Application Time Sheet (CATS) to support time capture for labor processing/costing

  • Proficiency with financial month-end close processing in SAP, particularly costing

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot and resolve SAP costing issues

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and train end-users

  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing business requirements and work in a fast-paced environment

  • Up-to-date knowledge of SAP costing trends and best practices

  • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in implementing and supporting solutions in SAP S/4HANA in the areas of Finance and Costing with a demonstrated track record of delivering high-value business outcomes. 

  • Strong experience with Actual Labor Costing and working knowledge of Incurred Cost Submission 

  • Familiar with SAP Results Analysis functionality and revenue recognition capabilities

  • Familiar with S/4 HANA and/or ECC architecture and knowledge of ABAP de-bugging 

  • Experience with Dassian products: Actual Labor Costing (ALC), Workforce Authorization Management (WAM), Financial Planning and Analysis (FPA), and Results Analysis Processing (RAP)

  • Experience with SQL, XML, JSON, and Postman, CI/CD 

  • Experience with identifying and coordinating resources to ensure the required tools, processes, and training are available/effective and programs are staffed and supported to achieve success. 

  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military 

  • Proficiency with Jira, Backlog Grooming, Leading Stand-ups 

  • Ability to motivate and work with others

  • Agile development methods and scrum experience 

  • Experience designing and developing maintainable production applications

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 

  • Strong organizational skills that enable you to create, communicate, track and execute plans in a team environment

  • Prior exposure to working successfully in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment emphasizing rapid prototyping and fielding of capabilities, with minimal supervision

Estimated Starting Salary Range:

$138,634.92 - $190,623.01
