Position Overview (Summary/Objective):
We are seeking a talented Master Scheduler to join our team that supports U.S. intelligence community partners. We are developing the next generation of signal and image processing software, building on our 75+ year history on the cutting edge in the radar and electro-optical fields. The team has received numerous patents and developed revolutionary and exquisite technologies throughout our history that is continuing with our current work.
Your proven record of cost, schedule, and technical performance management of large, multi-year prime contracts will ensure our ground software development efforts support emerging space technology. This position will work closely with our program leadership team for a long-term contract in our Radar and Sensor Technologies business. Strong program planning and a passion for innovation will be instrumental in supporting our customers and their missions to keep us safe.
Candidates are welcome in Herndon, VA; Ypsilanti, MI; Melbourne, FL; and Westminster, CO. This work requires an active Top Secret SCI Clearance.
Responsibilities:
In this position, you will be responsible for:
- Construct, maintain, communicate, and effect changes within the program Integrated Master Scheduler (IMS) with Earned Value Management (EVM) requirements.
- Identify and analyze the program critical path and driving paths to schedule specific milestones; communicate critical path schedules and narratives to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Quickly understand existing and future sequences and constraints to actively de-conflict issues with several teams across multiple geographically dispersed sites.
- Provide assessment of impacts of proposed revisions to the Program Schedules and Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB).
- Facilitate and drive weekly schedule reviews with program and technical leadership to ensure up-to-date and accurate plans.
- Document, coordinate, validate, approve, report, and control schedule baselines and revisions to ensure all contractual requirements are satisfied.
- Maintain and perform schedule risk analysis to identify program criticality and uncertainty.
- Implement scheduling process improvements and drive consistence across related efforts.
- Devise, maintain, and improve scheduling tools and processes that identify, analyze, and present potential constraints on a monthly, weekly, and daily basis.
- Learn our Agile Software Engineering and customer operations with sufficient depth such that you can critically evaluate them and offer process improvements.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Business discipline or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience with project planning, integrated master scheduling, and industry scheduling best practices and procedures for the intelligence community.
- Expertise working with MS Project Web Access (MS Project On-line), MS Project Server, or MS Project Professional and other schedule analysis tools.
- Experience with Earned Value Management principles and reporting in relation to schedule performance.
- Scrum/Agile Development knowledge and experience with Jira.
- Experience with schedule risk and critical path analyses.
- Experience working in a cross-functional team environment – this is a highly collaborative position that requires ability to work under pressure and under challenging deadlines of quick turnaround proposals.
- Ability to analyze, organize and summarize data to ensure accurate records and reporting are maintained throughout the project life cycle.
- Must be willing to travel to customer, subcontractor and other ARKA locations as necessary (time-demand variable based on candidate location)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with schedule performance reporting within the IPMDAR.
- Knowledge in agile software development efforts using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
- Project Management Institute (PMI) certified Project Management Professional (PMP)® and PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP)® highly desirable.
- Coursework or training in Critical Path Analysis methodology.
- Experience performing schedule risk analysis techniques.
- Ability to work with limited supervision to develop and manage many levels of program plans and schedules simultaneously.
