As a Systems & Applications Manager – Level 3, located in Redondo Beach CA, you'll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one.
Northrop Grumman Space Sector (NGSP) is seeking a Systems & Application Manager – Level 3 to lead the Space Sector Systems and Application organization. This organization falls within the larger Space Sector Program Execution & Earned Value Compliance organization and has three managers reporting to it. The team is primarily focused on systems utilized for Earned Value Management such as Cobra, Project Server and SAP as well as the development and implementation of numerous web-based applications. While this role is organizationally within the Space Sector, areas of responsibility also extend across the Aerospace and Defense Sectors as they utilize both our systems support and applications. In addition, there is also support provided to elements of the CO and MS Sectors as well other functional organizations such as PMX and GSC.
In this job, you will:
- Overall management of an organization comprised of 3 managers and ~40 systems, process and development personnel.
- Overall leadership of a team that supports hundreds of concurrent efforts.
- Provide clear and concise communication ensuring the team understands the programs, divisions and Sectors priorities are understood and realized.
- Collaborate with numerous organizations to bring about efficient solutions including programs, BUs, divisions and Sectors including IT, BM, EV Council and DTO.
- Mentor and develop professional and management talent within the team.
- Communicate down and out to ensure the team is focused on meeting various internal customer needs.
- Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-relate discipline with 8+ years of related experience including demonstrated systems and people management – OR – Master’s degree with 6+ years of related experience including demonstrated systems and people management.
- Knowledge of EVMS, Deltek Cobra, Microsoft Project Server, SAP, Web Applications and Program rhythms and processes.
- Knowledge of the capabilities of various technologies.
- Extensive problem-solving experience utilizing both technology and process improvements.
- Project control experience through different phases of a program.
- Proven ability to engage successfully with multiple levels of management and internal customers.
- Demonstrated leadership experience coordinating large scale system upgrades, implementations and migrations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a diverse team of developers, system and process personnel.
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Requires an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) or Computer Information Systems (CIS) (or a related discipline) with 8+ years of related experience in systems and people management – OR – Master’s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) or Computer Information Systems (CIS) (or a related discipline) with 6+ years of related experience in systems and people management.
- Extensive leadership and coordination experience with major system upgrades, implementations and migrations.
- In-depth knowledge of the functionality and capabilities of Deltek Cobra and Microsoft Project Server systems.
- Strong understanding of EVMS requirements, processes and program rhythms.
- Ability to interact effectively with and provide clear communication to non-technical leadership.

About Space Sector: We are an industry-leading provider for prime satellite and payload capabilities and directed energy and electronics solutions for national security, military, and civil customers.
Salary Range: $187,000.00 - $280,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
