We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic “Supply Chain Manager” to round out the Global Supply Chain team in the task of ensuring we have world class components and technology available for developing and building our unique SAR microsatellites. This position is located in our headquarters in Espoo, Finland. Are you ready for the challenge?


What will you do in this role? 

  • Continuous search for alternative components and technologies for micro satellites
  • Strategic decisions and overall responsibility of defined component categories and supplier manager for the relevant suppliers
  • Supplier contracts (frame agreements, purchasing contracts, NDAs, consignment stocks)
  • RFI/RFP/RFQs, orders, follow-up, quality claims
  • Ownership of total cost for defined component categories 
  • Team lead role supervisor for one or more team member.
  • Member of supplier audit team
  • Close cooperation with production and R&D to understand technical requirements and demand needs
  • Define and manage optimal stock levels for defined component categories
  • Conduct market intelligence research, follow global tech trends and material shortage risks
  • Support in trade compliance related matters

Requirements

What will you need to be successful in this role?

  • Ideal candidate has a commercial background and a highly technical mind-set or an engineering background with commercial experience
  • 5+ years experience in a supply chain manager role or similar e.g. a purchasing manager for electrical components or a technical buyer
  • Ability to lead and influence others
  • Experience using an ERP for data management (a plus if Netsuite)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent English proficiency, Finnish language is a plus
  • Any knowledge of aerospace or satellite industry; suppliers, technologies, parts and standards is a major plus
  • Any knowledge of import/export procedures is an advantage

  • Base salary range for this position is contingent on your experience level, and will be negotiated individually.
