Job Overview & Responsibilities

  • This position is responsible for performing reliability analyses for all Launch Vehicle Families at United Launch Alliance. Efforts include modeling, allocations, predictions, and failure mode assessments.
  • Develop and review Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) spreadsheets, including working with RSE (Responsible Engineer), presenting to the customer, and tracking metrics.
  • Update reliability analysis for all programs based on design evolution.
  • Attend and present at weekly and monthly meetings.
  • This position will execute systems engineering activities including requirements development, risk, issue, and opportunity management, team and program execution planning, technical decision making, requirements verification activities, customer relationship communication, proposal support, and Gate Review preparation and execution.
  • This position will be responsible for identifying and applying appropriate scaling of systems engineering activities commensurate with the specific project needs.
  • Proactively communicates with Program and Mission Management on emerging issues, strategic opportunities, concerns, etc.
  • Ensures input data/resources are coordinated and documented in the project schedule.
  • Engages and gets approvals of technical authorities (RSEs, CEs, etc.), as needed.

Minimum of 4 years of related work experience

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field from an accredited college or university.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Systems Engineering and Integration processes and tools.
  • Experience performing requirements development, integration, and verification management.
  • Knowledge of existing and evolving launch system requirements.
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams to resolve technical and programmatic issues.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge in areas that drive launch vehicle design such as aerospace structural analysis and design, propulsion analysis and design, electrical analysis and design, software development, and system analysis. The successful candidate will be a self-starter able to work autonomously, learn, tailor and execute processes, and perform in a collaborative environment.
  • Experience with system level design reviews or major gate reviews (e.g. SRR, PDR, CDR, etc.) and presenting to a diverse customer audience.
  • Experience with Word, Excel, and Power Point to include the integration of charts for presentations.
  • Ability to travel (10%).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with avionics or electrical engineering.
  • Experience generating, allocating, and verifying requirements for Aerospace applications.
  • Experience with FMEAs, Fault Trees, Fishbones, or reliability analysis.
  • Experience with SAPHIRE.
  • Previous experience supporting multidisciplinary project teams with an emphasis on launch systems is highly desired.

Summary Salary Range (for ULA - Denver only): $98,339.00 - $153,653.00

Please note that the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon a candidate's experience and qualifications, as well as internal equity, market and business considerations. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in addition to base pay.
