Maxar is currently hiring a Data Center Technician to join our team in Westminster, CO or Longmont, CO. In this role, you will work with a small team that supports our physical data centers on a layer 1 and hardware level for numerous operating domains; primarily in the USA. Our services are foundational to mission success and help us realize the opportunities we seek to harness our capabilities for a better world.

 

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Work with project design teams and facilities on cabling infrastructure in offices in local and remote locations

• Travel to and from our east coast, west coast and mountain facilities in support or cabling projects

• Cable design inside data center and critical IT spaces both remote and local

• Run and maintain the data center to include structured cabling as well as power and cooling in racks

• Track and label all connections and assets in all IT spaces as well as data centers

• Monitor ticket queues and coordinate maintenance with internal team members and drive to resolution

• Work with remote hands in out-of-state locations to coordinate troubleshooting and resolution of incidents

• Install servers, storage and network gear into server racks

• Participate in an on-call rotation to support 24x7 operations

Minimum requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen and have a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree, four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree
  • Minimum of 2 years of related work experience
  • Experience with server deployment and troubleshooting
  • Ability to travel 20% between our east coast, west coast and mountain facilities
  • Ability to be on call on a rotational basis

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with structured cable design and implementation
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies
  • Previous experience with medium-to-large-scale infrastructure installations
  • Previous experience working on a distributed team
  • Experience with SharePoint
  • Experience with Visio 
  • Experience with Excel 
  • Good time management and communication skills
  • Self-driven and self-organizing

We use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range. To accommodate all locations, we have listed the bottom to the top of the possible range, and will share the target range for a specific location during the recruiting discussion. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidates unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:

$53,000.00 - $114,000.00 annually.
