Job Summary
The Facilities Division provides quality leadership, agile solutions, and exceptional enterprise integrated services that enables The Aerospace Corporation to achieve mission success in the rapidly changing space enterprise environment. The Facilities Services Directorate is a major unit within the Facilities Division responsible for a variety of functions including Fleet, Property Management, Shipping/Receiving, Warehousing, Stores, Commuter Services, Building Maintenance, and numerous contracted services.
The Facilities Services organization performs maintenance operations on owned buildings and facilities maintenance as needed in leased facilities across the nation. This includes preventive maintenance, repair, alteration, and equipment installation on grounds and in or upon buildings. Contracted services include mail services, imaging/copy services, janitorial services, grounds maintenance, landscaping, cafeteria services, and transportation services.
The Principal Director of Facilities Services is a member of the corporate leadership team interfacing with corporate senior executives to envision, create, and execute corporate strategic plans and actions. This position provides overall direction to multiple department leaders. This role interfaces with senior program and project stakeholders as well as representatives of federal government regulatory agencies. This position formulates, approves, and implements strategic directives to meet Aerospace policies, practices, and customer agreements. This position enables enterprise integration with service organizations (EIS, Security, Safety, Corporate Communications, People Operations, Supply Chain) through collaboration to establish priorities and effectively plan and execute on service activities.
Work Model
This is a full-time position based at our El Segundo, CA campus offering a hybrid work model that combines 4 regular workdays onsite and remote flexibility as the business needs allow.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Operates strategically by managing, planning, and directing Corporate Facilities services and maintenance operations to ensure support levels for corporate needs and customer requirements are achieved
- Leads change by directing strategic planning activities; partners in the management of the Facilities Division including alignment of activities with the Corporate Strategic Plan, delivering customer support expectations, and achieving financial and contractual requirements
- Delivers Results by collaborating across Enterprise Services (EIS, Security, Safety, Corporate Communications, People Operations, Supply Chain) seeking integrated solutions to enterprise-wide challenges and opportunities by establishing priorities and effectively planning, and executing on, an integrated delivery model
- Partners with customers and stakeholders on Facilities services including status, scopes of work, requirements, cost estimates and approvals, all while ensuring integration and coordination; examines processes for workflow for optimal efficiencies
- Leads the development of Maintenance Action Plans and supports development of Capital Investment Plans, Facilities Master Plan and Strategic Facilities Plan
- Prepares Facilities maintenance and operations requirements for developing capital and overhead budgets; develops cost reduction opportunities during contracts renegotiations
- Manages vendor contracted Facility Services activities
- People leader and mentor; leads a diverse and inclusive workforce; identifies and prepares talent for new and enriching experiences
What You Need to be Successful - Facilities Services Principal Director
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or related field
- 10 or more years of management experience in Facilities, Business Management, or related field
- Experience with Facilities best practices, standards, and methodologies
- Extensive knowledge of logistics management domain and vendor management
- Experience managing contracted service providers; experience leading efforts to compete and award contracted services contracts
- Experience engaging with various with federal government oversight agencies and their audit programs including the Defense Contract Management Agency (DMCA), Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)
- This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
- Ability and willingness to travel to various national campus and site locations
