Summary
You will be part of a driven and enthusiastic team working to prototype, design, develop, and test innovative new vortex hybrid rocket engines and vehicle sub-systems for our small launch vehicle.
Vaya Space is looking for an experienced program scheduler ready to work alongside out team of expert rocket design engineers and program managers to bring our Dauntless small launch vehicle to the market. The Program Scheduler will work closely with technical experts, project leads, and Project and Program Managers to plan, create, and manage project schedules. They will help make key decisions regarding the best process control, procurement, subcontracting, risk management, assignment coordination, and activity duration. This role works closely with others in linking critical activities across multiple projects. The Program Scheduler will also help to ensure that an open communication system is available where all stakeholders are informed about changes to established schedules. They are responsible for the timely and accurate processing of schedule updates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Establishes and maintains program schedule with technical experts, project managers, and Program / Engineering leadership, including tasks, subtasks, resource and personnel requirements, deadlines, and technical progress.
- Performs schedule analysis in support of assigned programs or projects.
- Ensures major projects and program schedules and plans are integrated across company functional groups including finance, engineering, material, manufacturing, and quality.
- Tracks plans and schedules, performs risk analysis, identifies, and resolves critical path and network logic conflicts.
- Utilizes Gantt, PERT, milestone charts, earned value management and other project management techniques to gauge progress and identify performance variances to facilitate focus and intervention on critical areas.
- Ensures compliance with internal program procedures and project control system guidelines.
- May lead or participate in scheduling status reviews.
- Explains and interprets processes and procedures to others within and outside the job area.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in project management, or in a related field.
- Experience with project and program scheduling in an aerospace manufacturing or R&D environment
- Proficiency in the use of project software such as MS Project
- Strong communication skills – written and verbal.
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet applications
- Ability to treat documents with confidentiality.
- US Person as defined in 22 CRF Part 120.15 (U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees and those given asylum in the United States, and temporary residents granted amnesty) since work includes ITAR controlled technical data.
Preferred Skills and Education
- Certification as a PMI scheduling professional (PMI-SP) will be a plus.
- A minimum of five years' experience as a project scheduler in a related industry.
- Familiarity with DCMA 14 Point Schedule Assessment metrics for schedule analysis
