Maxar is seeking a Sr. Antenna Design Engineer to join our team in Palo Alto, CA. Our team designs, analyzes and tests high quality antennas that are suitable for space missions ranging from Low Earth Orbit Satellites to Geostationary Satellites to Planet Exploration Satellites. We are all self-motivated highly-collaborative problem solving engineers yet can work independently with minimum supervision at times. In this role, you will be responsible for design, analysis, specification, and compliance review and coordinating/collaborating with engineers/customers in other disciplines.

Responsibilities:

Performs research, design, analysis and development of antenna and related products
Generates reports, recommendations and input for proposals or programs.
May act as lead engineer or project facilitator/coordinator.
Generates engineering documentation such as specifications, design reviews and action item responses
Performs testing, troubleshooting and test analysis.
Collaborates with both internal and external engineers and project/program manager

Minimum Requirements:

Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, Physics, Mathematics or other STEM related field. 4 years of additional experience may be substituted for a degree
8 years of relevant experience. A Master's degree may account for 2 years of experience.
Experience with antenna design/analytical software tools

Preferred Qualifications:

15+ years of experience in antenna feed and/or reflector design/analysis
Experience with antenna analysis tools such as TICRA Tool, GRASP, POS, CHAMP, HFSS, CST, µWave Wizard
Experience with MATLAB, Python, Fortran, C/C++ and/or other coding tools
Knowledgeable in PIM and high power analysis, validation and operation challenges such as Multipaction and Corona
Self-Motivated
Able to work with limited supervision at times
Excellent in communicating and collaborating even with others who are not in the same discipline
Able to mentor junior engineers

We use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range. To accommodate all locations, we have listed the bottom to the top of the possible range, and will share the target range for a specific location during the recruiting discussion. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidates unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:

$94,000.00 - $200,000.00 annually.

Additionally, this position is incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and/or individual results achieved; the specific incentive plan and target amount will be determined based on the role and breadth of contributions.
