Description:This position will serve as a systems architect and systems engineer within the Global Security Future Architectures (GSFA) Ground Team. The GSFA Ground Team is working multiple concurrent contracts to take several systems through their design phase review milestones (SRR & PDR). The Systems Architect Staff will be assigned to a ground subsystem team and will contribute to the development of the subsystem structure, behavior, and interfaces.
Typical candidate will have 9+ years of experience.
Responsibilities may include:
• Define ground subsystem structures, behavior, interfaces, and data flows
• Contribute to design and model development by creating or refining SysML elements and diagrams
• Contribute to development of CDRL documents
• Conduct or participate in design trade studies
• Develop plans for DevSecOps pipelines and test approach
• Participate in interface working groups to define and mature external interfaces
• Investigate options and strengthen decisions related to system and software architecture (e.g., subsystem behavior, interactions between subsystems or externals, cloud architecture, formats and protocols, microservice architecture, compute/resource sizing, CI/CD and automation approaches, integration of COTS/FOSS products, etc.)
• Present at external meetings and demos
The position requires a TS clearance to interview and a TS/SCI to start. Candidate must agree to sit for a CI Poly, but may start before the poly is conducted.
Basic Qualifications:
• Technical experience in systems engineering or software engineering
• Active Top Secret clearance; US Citizenship is required
• Willing to obtain a CI Poly
Desired Skills:
• Experience as a technical lead for small teams or projects
• Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and proficiency with SysML and Cameo
• Experience with ground segment development
• Experience as a software developer or software-focused systems engineer or architect
• Experience with development phase design reviews including SRR, SDR, PDR, or CDR
• Experience with enterprise/system of systems design or integration
• Experience with Scrum or SAFe
• Ability to maintain composure and healthy team interactions while under pressure in a fast moving environment

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $109,500 - $209,900. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
