Description:Lockheed Martin Space in Aurora, CO is seeking a full-time Spacecraft/Satellite Flight Operations Engineer to join our team. The SBIRS CLS Operations Satellite System Engineer (SSE) conducts mission/program specific real time spacecraft/satellite flight operations during readiness, execution, evaluation, and operational phases. Assists in developing detailed plans and procedures to provide maximum mission support in areas such as orbit dynamics, satellite performance analysis, and command and control of on-orbit satellites. Provides technical direction for on orbit mission support, plans for critical vehicle malfunctions and recommends alternate operating techniques to continue maximum mission support. Provides failure analysis of the performance of the orbiting satellites via telemetry data. Utilizes system software to accomplish all spacecraft control tasks and recommends improvements. Analyzes and validates software performance. Performs flight length orbit adjust and daily special event studies. The SSE assist the Space Force operators in all spacecraft bus and payload operations by planning and scheduling mission critical events, assisting in the generation and maintenance of command plans, technical advice and assistance during anomaly resolution activities, documenting and trending system performance and providing recommendations for optimal system operational methods and techniques. They assist the Space Force operators during spacecraft commanding, ensuring proper execution of command plans, scheduling constellation and ground system activities, participating in anomaly resolution activities, launch and early orbit activities, and documenting system performance. The SSEs monitor the SBIRS satellite constellation health and performance by evaluating telemetry alarms and warnings, monitoring commanding and responding to satellite anomalies when required. Also, local travel to MCSB to perform these operations support duties as required (estimated 2 weeks per year per).
-Support the facilitation of communications between the operations and engineering groups on system status and operational issues.
-Assist in the preparation and implementation of FOS (Flight Operations Support) operations product development and test and verification implementation plans.
-Provide inputs to the collection and reporting of applicable metrics for status briefings to Managers.
-Position/work location is at Aurora Colorado, occasional travel and shift work is required.

Basic Qualifications:
Requires ability to support 24/7 shift work, including mid shifts

Demonstrated ability to rapidly resolve critical/complex technical or operational problems, and/or space system anomalies.
Proficiency in one of the related: C, C++, C#, Java, XML, Windows, .NET, and UNIX, PERL, system software and scripting development, Java programming, web development, System analysis, System design, Software Design, Software Development and Implementation, Software Test or Cyber Security.

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $67,400 - $129,300. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidateβs final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
