Job description
Duties
- Serves as the senior advisor to the Associate Administrator for Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs, the Center Director at the KSC, and other senior management officials on issues of significance to KSC and NASA.
- Manages the development, implementation, and documentation of long and short-range planning efforts that are structured to gain support for KSC and Agency programs at the Federal, state, and local government levels.
- Develops and maintains relationships with congressional stakeholders for areas of interest impacting KSC.
- Serves as a consultant to senior management officials in the evaluation of current and long-range objectives, plans, programs, policies, and proposed courses of action on legislative matters.
- Gathers, researches, analyzes, and coordinates with Headquarters and Center team members as needed to prepare information for presentation by senior officials and program staff in their meetings with congressional, state, and local officials.
- Manages the preparation of formal written replies to KSC-initiated correspondence to Members of Congress and their senior staff for signature by the Center Director and/or HQ leadership.

Qualifications
To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level:
- Providing senior level insight on Agency impacts resulting from congressional engagements;
- Independently developing and managing stakeholder relationships with congressional and state legislative offices to ensure broad support for Agency priorities;
- Reviewing legislative documents, briefings, and responses for presentation to local congressional staff offices and to advise on potential legislative impacts to Agency efforts;
- Exercising initiative to develop strategies to further Agency priorities in the enactment of legislative agendas.
