About the Role

As a Quality Manager II, you'll develop, modify, apply and maintain quality evaluation, control systems, and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product while ensuring efficient conformance to industry standards and compliance to regulatory requirements. You'll be using your skills and expertise to devise and implement methods and procedures for auditing and evaluating the accuracy of our processes, products and systems. You'll ensure that corrective measures and deviation meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements. Your responsibilities will include developing, applying, and maintaining advanced quality systems and protocols necessary to ensure efficient conformance and compliance.Responsibilities:
The Supplier Quality Manager will be responsible for ensuring the quality of materials and components supplied to our organization
This role involves establishing and maintaining supplier quality standards, evaluating supplier performance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across our supply chain
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality management, supplier relationship management, and a keen ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Oversee Supplier Quality Engineering team
Manages ASL approving new suppliers and overseeing the certification/qualification of assigned suppliers
Plans and maintains an overall audit, sourcing schedule of suppliers
Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving efforts for supplier-related quality issues.
Designs and implements supplier quality assurance methods and metrics
Create improvement plans for suppliers based on quality performance working directly with supplier to improve supplier performance
Work with Supply Chain Management to create/revise processes and procedures for supplier quality across all sites and sectors
Liaison between Supplier and Sierra Space stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field of study
Relevant work experience may substitute for required education\
Direct Aviation/Aerospace operations experience
In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100 and CMMI standards
Extensive experience in an electronic/mechanical systems environment
Prior experience in management
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field
Typically, 8-10 years of relevant experience, preferably in aerospace manufacturing
Strong knowledge of quality control processes, standards, and methodologies.
Highly skilled in balancing production and execution pressures with the discipline needed to ensure integrity of critical spaceflight hardware and software
Ability to analyze, prioritize, assign and report on open Quality tasks across multiple programs
Experience with supplier audits and performance evaluations.
Ability to communicate effectively with executive management
Experience managing staffing levels with a mix of funding from direct and indirect budgets
Ability to effectively build and work with teams across multiple disciplines, sites and sectors
Experience in developing metrics and KPI’s for driving action and communicating with executive leadership members
Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies, Lean, 5S, GEMBA
Proven success developing company culture around quality and improvement
Exceptional leadership skills to motivate and inspire direct reports and peers
Critical thinker with effective interpersonal skills to negotiate creative solutions for complex compliance challenges involving multiple stakeholders
Results driven while adhering to product and process requirements
Proven ability to deliver results in an unstructured, fast-paced environment
Must be able to travel >40% domestically, internationally 10%
Certified Supplier Quality Professional (CSQP)
Certified Lead Auditor
Experience with reusable spaceflight hardware programs
Experience working with all commodities and large complex BOM
Experience throughout the lifecycle of product development with focus on design, manufacturing, test & operation

Estimated Starting Salary Range:
