EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for a 5G Incubation Intern in our Hughes Network Systems division. This position will be located onsite at our manufacturing facility in Germantown, MD.

Responsibilities:

• Programming – API Calls for Data collection & display on Screens (Desktop/Tablets/Mobile)
• RF Testing – Take measurements & Record and Data Analysis
• Documentation – Diagrams, Analysis, Project Planning, Presentations
• Video Analytics – AI-based analysis of images to detect objects, motion, events
• Innovation – “What can we develop and test for applications at the P5G Incubation Center & MCC campus/G’town?”

Focus areas:

• Wireless Communications (Assist in monitoring & maintaining service quality)
  • RF Planning – Take RF readings; document; tools (e.g., Spectrum Analyzers)
  • Data Analysis – Look for anomalies & learn about simple RF Planning algorithms.
• Network Management Systems (Assist in the development of device & service monitoring & observability tools)
  • Skills: Python Programming, REST APIs, JSON data structures
  • Sample tools will include Zabbix, Prometheus, Tableau, Netbox, Nautobot, custom portal interfaces using Angular JS, and others
  • The goal is to learn about data visualization and how it can help the viewer understand, analyze, and implement intelligent automation
• Network Engineering (Assist documenting & monitoring of Network elements connected to the P5G network)
  • Basic understanding of Networking & OSI model
  • Learn scripting, reporting & automation tools to report network health status and understand/debug problems & remediation.

Basic Requirements:

• Currently enrolled at Montgomery College
• 3.0 GPA or above

Compensation Range

Annual Salary: $49,000.00 - $70,000.00
