This position is on the Strata Systems Engineering team, and will collaborate with the customer, local engineers, and geographically dispersed teammates and stakeholders to ensure Strata deliveries are well engineered, and are designed to adhere to all system requirements and policies according to contractual requirements. Successful candidates for this position will have training (BS) in a science or technology related discipline, experience in performing software testing and writing test procedures. This position will requires the ability to physically access the Herndon DEP II facility.
The ideal candidate will have experience in systems engineering processes and practices, requirements development and analysis, and systems of systems verification. The candidate will work within an Agile team environment utilizing Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) software methodologies and processes.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning engineering activities during release planning events in accordance with the GVS program roadmap and assist the Systems Engineering team in accomplishing the objectives laid out for each release. They will regularly perform engineering studies or concept of operations (CONOPS) to investigate and proof engineering activities prior to their inclusion in a GVS program increment (PI), and will work with the government customer to shape on contract growth through Requests for Change (RFCs) and IDIQ Task Orders.
Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years of recent systems engineering experience and processes
- Experience translating customer requirements/vision into discrete Engineering and Development Features with Acceptance Criteria
- Experience with the SAFe Agile Processes and Agile Programs/Projects
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance, with a final TS required to start
Desired Skills:
- Geospatial Intelligence and/or NGA Customer experience
- Familiar with Red Had Linux environments
- Experience working with cloud environments, particularly for Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Experience with Geospatial visualization applications, GIS technologies (Google Earth, ArcGIS, OpenLayers, Cesium) , and/or Geospatial Visualization domain knowledge
- Agile certifications
- Experience coordinating and integrating with external segments to deliver enterprise capabilities
- Experience with cyber security (Evaluating vulnerabilities, identifying mitigations, general security process knowledge)
- Prior knowledge in or willingness to learn Docker, Kubernetes, and streaming analytics
- Security+ Certification (or equivalent DoD 8140 certification)
- Demonstrated experience working across multiple teams and job functions; bridging both sustainment and enhancement priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, collaborative team environment
