The Chief of Staff is a critical role, supporting our UK Chief Executive (CE) to drive strategy, key initiatives and projects. Reporting to the UK Chief Executive and supporting the NGUK Executive, the Chief of Staff needs to work collaboratively with teams and functions across NG and externally to support strategy development, mobilise change, support delivery of key initiatives and coordinate across NGUK and the wider corporation.

Salary: £85,000 - £100,000

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the CE and working with other key Directors on issues of strategy, planning, business development, corporate issues and government relations.
  • Compiling and co-ordinating management reports for the CE, including drafting monthly reports for corporate and key Board / ELT presentations with the team.
  • Managing the government relations team, and supporting NG’s engagement with governmental stakeholders.
  • Organising and serving as the Secretary to the UK Executive, Monthly Business Unit Reviews and Business Development Reviews.
  • Coordinating / supporting NGUK strategy development.
  • Leading on CGBDO-related budgeting and providing support to special projects as required.

We are looking for:

  • Demonstrable experience in and understanding of the defence and security community.
  • Ability to deal with competing priorities and deadlines at a leadership level; you must be responsive, pro-active and enjoy working in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience in operating within a matrix environment and influencing senior peers.
  • You to be highly numerate and have good financial acumen and experience managing budgets.
  • An individual whom is looking to play a major part in supporting business growth and operational maturity.
  • Excellent communicator who can provide clear and concise messaging both externally to customers and internally within Northrop Grumman.
  • A collaborator with the confidence and integrity to earn stakeholders’ confidence
  • Strong logic, drafting and presentation development skills
  • Excellent problem solving, influencing, negotiation and organisational skills.
