Description:Work with technical assistance and guidance or work independently with complete
procedures after initial on the job instruction and guidance to develop skills and acquire
a working knowledge of the following tasks.
Assist in setup and operation of basic machining, wood working, and welding
equipment.
Assist in performing routine electrical fabrication, maintenance, testing and repairs to
grounding systems.
May operate material handling equipment (MHE), power trucks, pickup trucks and
overhead cranes.
Assist in the preparation of non-destructive test methods.
Assist in operations with precision measuring instruments and electrical measuring
instruments.
Assist with record keeping associated with inventory and control of shop materials.
Assist in weight testing program.
Assist in repair of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Assist in performing painting operations supporting Support Equipment
fabrication and alteration.
US Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Security clearance. Cannot be a dual citizen. Interim Secret Clearance required prior to start.
Basic Qualifications:
Basic knowledge in the field of general maintenance and repair. Ability to set up and operate basic wood working, shop equipment/machinery. Ability to read and understand fabrication and assembly blueprints and to use hand tools associated with woodworking, metal working, mechanical and electrical service and repairs.
Use the proper personal protective equipment.
Ability to work with paints, solvents, greases, and other cleaning agents.
Ability to work in confined spaces as required to perform assigned tasks.
Ability to lift 45 pounds.
Ability to qualify for and maintain certificates and/or licenses to perform assigned duties.
Typically requires a minimum of one year of experience in directly related work or satisfactory completion of basic courses in metal and woodworking and one year of experience in related manufacturing work or equivalent.
Skilled in the use of computers and ability to learn new computer applications.
Must possess valid state driverβs license.
Must be a United States citizen. Cannot be a dual citizen.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.

The base range for this position in Washington, District of Columbia is $29.31 - $44.51.
