About the Role:
As a Program Manager on the Global Professional Services team at Planet, you will drive complex projects focused on helping scale customer adoption of the Planet Platform and its data products. You will work with cross-functional teams, both technical and non-technical, to define project methodology and strategy across a project portfolio.
This position will appeal to candidates who have interest in working across a variety of industries and applications of remote sensing data and a desire to improve processes, tools, and ways of working to scale development cycles. Ideal candidates adapt quickly and have a growth mindset.
This is a full-time, hybrid position based in the Berlin metropolitan area.
Impact You’ll Own:
- Work closely with Professional Services Engineers, PreSales, and the broader commercial teams to deliver business value
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to determine project scope and objectives
- Identify and translate business and technical requirements into tasks and deliverables with clarity
- Scope and manage tasks and needed resources; execute project scope; identify risks and proactively mitigate them; track project costs and manage budget
- Develop and manage detailed project schedules and work plans
- Provide project updates on a consistent basis to customers and internal stakeholders about progress, adjustments and strategy
- Design and implement processes for smooth project delivery and for cross-team collaboration
- Continuously improve ways of working and processes by monitoring business workflows, identifying inefficiencies, and continuously iterating
- Manage contracts with subcontractors by setting expectations, assigning tasks and tracking deliverables
- Measure project performance and customer satisfaction to identify areas for improvement
What You Bring:
- 6+ years of project management or agile development experience
- Experience leading cross-functional projects and managing tight timelines
- Experience working in software or product development in a complex technical environment and within an Agile framework
- Excellent skills in end-to-end project lifecycle, with multi-stakeholder facilitation, issue resolution and decision making both internally and externally, specifically in complex environments
- Excellent communication and listening skills to deliver solutions to stakeholders
- Ability to resolve issues independently with minimal oversight
- Ability to balance the tactical day-to-day with forward-looking improvements to scale operational efficiencies.
- Ability to work in-person at our Berlin office 2 days per week
What Makes You Stand Out:
- Experience with remote sensing, EO data, or imaging
- Experience in cloud computing, platform development and integrations, APIs, Analytics, or UX
- Ability to be self-motivated with experience initiating efforts and augmenting existing programs with new ideas
- Excellent organization, prioritization, and time management skills, especially in dynamic environments
- Experience working with remote, distributed, global teams
