Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 (commensurate with experience)

We are seeking a Cyber Security Systems Engineer to serve as lead support to facilitate integration of cyber-based requirements leveraged amongst multiple programs in support of system accreditation lifecycles. You will implement security requirements, architecture, and design for embedded and large-scale, distributed DoD space systems. You will apply risk management concepts to mitigate vulnerabilities in system security architectures.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform systems engineering activities in the areas of cybersecurity, to include:
  • Assessment & Authorization (A&A),
  • Cryptographic System Security Engineering (SSE),
  • Certification & Accreditation (C&A), in accordance with NIST 800-53 RMF and NSA requirements and regulations
  • Analyze and ingest security requirements to applicable system of systems
  • Apply architecture framework to overlay security upon the system
  • Understand design impacts for embedded and large-scale space systems per system-level security requirements
  • Fluent knowledge of RMF control application to identify critical impact to prospective systems
  • Actively participate in design reviews, technical interchange meetings, and working groups to ensure compliance with security and control strategies
  • Review and update test plans and procedures to reflect compliance with security procedures and security driver requirements
  • Conduct verification of system design requirements and capabilities, support component and system-level testing and the assessment of theoretical reverse-engineering threats and potential countermeasures
  • Lead cross-functional team(s) to perform system level risk-based threat analyses, identify appropriate control and mitigation strategies in accordance with the program ISSM, derive and allocate security requirements to system hardware and software elements
  • Apply risk management concepts to mitigate vulnerabilities in system security architectures
  • Execute and participate in cyber relevant discussions to ensure system compliance and resiliency with key stakeholders
 
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Technical Bachelor's degree preferred in engineering or computer science.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and teambuilding skills
  • Ability to confidently convey technical information to senior leaders and customers
  • US Citizenship
  • 4+ years of work experience in System Engineering Architecture/Design
  • 4+ years of work experience in Information Assurance (IA)/Cyber Security
  • 4+ years of work experience supporting space vehicle engineering 
  • DoD Space program experience
