Job Overview & Responsibilities
- Lead and coach teammates who perform strength, fatigue, and fracture analysis for structural components and assemblies.
- The candidate will be required to review and create analysis models, perform hand calculations, and have an understanding of analysis best practices to provide strength inputs and recommendations for existing and new designs.
- The candidate will be required to review and approve 3-D engineering layouts, 3-D models, designs/drawings, and 2-D drawing changes for a variety of mechanical system components.
- The candidate will make engineering design recommendations with consideration of thermal, mechanical, and pressure loading using appropriate material properties, configurations, safety factors, etc.
- Analysis results will be documented in strength reports.
- Lead &/or support internal peer reviews, tabletop reviews, and formal design reviews as needed.
- Evaluate hardware non-conformances to support production activities.
- Candidate will participate in internal/external design reviews, and technical interchange meetings (TIMs), and may be expected to present analysis products at preliminary/critical design reviews (PDR/CDR).

Required Years of Experience
Minimum of 6 years of related work experience
Basic Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field from an accredited college or university is required.
- Understanding of analysis tools and methodology such as:
- NASTRAN (Static, Modal, Dynamic and Non-Linear Analysis Solutions)
- FEMAP pre/post processor
- Experience analyzing structural components (machined primary/secondary structure).
- General knowledge of fabrication methods for mechanical hardware, such as machining, welding, processing, and assembly.
- Understanding of:
- Bolted joint modeling and analysis
- GD&T standards and principles
- Analysis best practices and underlying assumptions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Aerospace material properties.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams.
