Omitron is seeking a skilled and motivated Cloud Engineer to join our Colorado Springs, CO, team to support critical operations. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure and solutions that meet specific application security and performance requirements. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure that cloud environments align with mission goals and operational needs.

Compensation and Benefits:
The salary range for this role is $120,000 to $180,000, depending on relevant experience, location, and other factors.

Responsibilities:
- Architect and implement secure cloud-based solutions tailored to requirements, ensuring scalability, reliability, and high availability.
- Manage and optimize cloud environments, focusing on infrastructure performance, cost efficiency, and resource scaling.
- Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies (e.g., NIST, RMF) and implement cloud security best practices.
- Develop automation scripts to streamline deployment, scaling, and monitoring of cloud infrastructure.
- Integrate cloud solutions with existing DoD systems and applications, maintaining data integrity and workflow continuity.
- Implement monitoring tools and respond to incidents, resolving technical issues to maintain optimal cloud performance.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation on system architecture, configurations, and operational procedures for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Stay updated with emerging cloud technologies and DoD standards, driving innovation to enhance cloud infrastructure capabilities.
Minimum Requirements:
- US Citizenship required.
- Security Clearance: Ability to obtain TS/SCI, active TS/SCI preferred
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in cloud engineering within a DoD or other federal government setting
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), with a strong preference for AWS and/or Azure
- Knowledge of DoD security standards and regulations (e.g., NIST, RMF, FedRAMP)
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, or PowerShell)
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Desired Qualifications:
- Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert)
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevSecOps practices
- Experience with data protection and encryption technologies for cloud environments
- Strong communication skills, with experience presenting technical concepts to non-technical audiences
