We are currently seeking a Solar Array Product Lead to design and develop solar arrays for spacecraft at Lockheed Martin. This critical component includes program phases progressing from initial concept development through design, build, test, and flight. Join the Lockheed Martin team and be

In this role, you will:
• Establish the design of the solar array, including requirements allocation, trade studies, thorough modeling, materials evaluations, and analyses.
• Participate in issue resolution and develop solutions to technical problems of varying complexity while assuring sound technical content and timely closure.
• Develop, review, and maintain engineering documents, specifications, and technical analyses necessary to support product build and testing activities.
• Generate and release drawings using CAD software.
• Collaborate with manufacturing personnel to supervise the build and test of the hardware in the production facility located next door to the engineering building.
• May become the Certified Principal Engineer (CPE) for the solar array. The CPE is the technical advocate responsible for all aspects of the solar array from program inception to launch and on-orbit operations.
• May become the Product Team Lead (PTL) for several solar arrays and asked to lead multiple integrated product teams consisting of engineers, researchers, manufacturing personnel, and suppliers. The PTL will lead team meetings, be the point of contact between with the program/customer, and lead design reviews, readiness reviews, and review boards. The PTL will also establish the detailed plan, manage the team to that plan, report cost and schedule performance, and report earned value management metrics.
Basic Qualifications:
• Technical experience with solar array design
• Experience designing spacecraft, aerospace, or mechanical components
• Strong mentoring skills
• Willing to travel when required
• US Citizen; ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a Clearance
Desired Skills:
• Proficient with mechanical CAD modeling in CREO or equivalent
• MRB trained and certified
• CPE or CPE delegate experience
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
• Background in composite structures and mechanisms design
• User of CREO CAD software
• CPE or CPE delegate experience
• MRB trained and certified
• Ability to work in a reciprocal and team-based environment
• Familiar with releasing drawings in EPDM 9.1
• Experience working with and overseeing manufacturing and/or outside suppliers
• Cost account manager training/experience

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $118,100 - $226,400. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
