Ground Hardware Engineering Operations and Maintenance support for a communications terminal located in Springfield Va. area. Site personnel support planned and ad-hoc hardware/systems engineering tasks on customized application systems to include system analysis, testing and integration activities, and discrepancy identification and repair in support of the customer’s 24x7 mission. Personnel selected for this position are required to work flexible schedules to provide occasion after hour and on-call support.
COMSEC/Engineering position for the operations and maintenance of a large scale RF Communication’s system. Primary responsibilities: COMSEC and Hardware Engineering/ Operations support for a large, integrated, complex hardware-software communications system in a real-time environment. Responsibilities include multiple daily COMSEC duties, preventative and corrective maintenance support across multiple external interfaces over a robust multi-tiered network. Direct interaction with ops customer and mission partners is required to provide technical assessment and operational work around recommendations. Daily activities may include, but are not limited to, discrepancy report work off and resolution, O&M training/mentoring, trending, procedure development, data collection, fault isolation, and performing real-time manual actions to restore system capabilities. Assistance in development of troubleshooting/recovery plans and execution of associated management and customer briefs may also be required. Participation in corrective maintenance will require remove/replace, repair, and testing failed hardware. Candidate will work closely with delivering, installation efforts, and special test configurations. Candidate should have a solid working knowledge of varied test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum/link/network analyzers, power meters and signal generation equipment. Performance of maintenance activities will include climbing multiple sets of stairs, lifting/carrying up to 50lbs, and working in non-environment-controlled workspaces. Strict adherence to all applicable administrative, safety and security policies is required.
Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information prior to starting.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years handling and managing COMSEC material.
Desired Skills:
Experience providing Ground Engineering O&M support
Knowledge of IT Networking experience: LAN, WAN, CISCO, Juniper, etc.
IAT Level I or higher certification: CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, etc.
Technical experience with SATCOM Ground Terminals to include parabolic antennas, receive/transmit equipment, control and status networks, IF and baseband signal processing.
Experience with Windows and UNIX based operating systems and applications.
Prior electronics and/or satellite communications training or experience.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: TS/SCI w/Poly
