As a Manufacturing Engineering Associate Manager, you will lead teams in producing and maintaining technical documentation for FBM. The documents detail processes and products involved in performing specific assembly, maintenance, or military tasks. Manufacturing engineers are the cornerstone between mechanical, electrical, industrial, and systems engineers and the field personnel, operations, safety, logistics, and mechanics using our documentation.
As a Manufacturing Engineering Associate Manager, you will use problem solving skills to assess dynamic operational and technical changes for Technical Manuals that include Ordnance Pamphlets (OP), Ordnance Documents (OD), Standard Maintenance Procedures, and Facility Documentation.
As a Manufacturing Engineering Associate Manager, you will:
• Direct teams in the planning, preparation, testing, maintenance, and promulgation of assembly, operational, and maintenance documentation.
• Ensure that all work will be completed and reviewed for soundness of technical judgement, compliance with contract requirements, and overall accuracy.
• Ensure your teams provide procedural support for SWS fleet and facility documentation proofing and activation.
• Ensure technical publications adhere to Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) and Technical Manual Schedules (TMS).
• Be a good facilitator and have good inter-personnel skills to work with a diverse team of US Navy personnel, engineers, technicians, and fellow manufacturing engineers to reconcile organizational needs within documentation.
This position does not support teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility one of the Coolest places to work: Titusville, FL. , and be expected to work in the office.
Basic Qualifications:
To be effective, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education
• Experience in successfully leading documentation teams
• Strong analytical/problem solving skills
• Ability to travel occasionally
• You will need to be a US Citizen, and be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD TOP SECRET clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Desired Skills:
To be effective, ideally, you should also have:
• Master’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education
• Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification
• Experience working with multi-functional teams
• FBM Missile Assembly and Fleet Operational knowledge and background
• Experience with interactive electronic technical manual (IETMs) (and XR)
• Experience with SP 201, 27, 28, and SPFC
• Experience with Documentation Change Control
• Knowledge of S1000D, XML and basic structured markup languages
• Ability to review and assess compliance with FBM requirements
• Working knowledge FBM facility and fleet Documentation.
• Ability to understand documentation requirements.

What does this role look like?
