Our facility at Kennedy Space Center in Florida seeks an early career level Production Planning & Control (PP&C) Master Production Scheduler to join our mission supporting the Orion Program Assembly, Test & Launch Operations (ATLO). Lockheed Martin is the prime contractor building the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, NASA’s first spacecraft designed for long-duration, human-rated deep space exploration. Orion will transport humans to interplanetary destinations beyond low Earth orbit, such as asteroids, the moon and eventually Mars, and return them safely back to Earth. Reporting directly to the PP&C manager, you will be responsible for KSC ATLO master production schedule development, execution, and closure.

In this role you will…

• Analyze the Orion product structure and work with stakeholders to develop detailed master production schedules

• Coordinate with Manufacturing and Operations Management to provide shop floor control on make parts, analyze and control production schedule and capacity requirements, execute the plan, provide timely status and expedite or work around plans to preserve schedule

• Coordinate with supply chain stakeholders to determine a time-phased plan for procured parts and execute processes to ensure production schedule requirements are met

• Facilitate daily meetings with multiple disciplines; drive the execution of scheduled tasks and assist with resolving work stoppages

• Direct other team members including shop floor control, buy/make planners and be responsible for reporting progress to executive leadership

• Perform the Make, Buy and/or Bill of Material (BOM) planning activities associated with Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) transactions

• Maintain production systems integrity to drive inventory optimization to minimize cost and expedite and optimize material flow through the supply chain to meet customer requirements

Basic Qualifications:
• 1 year of hands-on experience developing schedules in Microsoft Project or a comparable scheduling tool

• Knowledge of SAP MRP (Manufacturing Resource Planning) processes or comparable ERP/MRP experience

• Experience with production schedule backward pass analysis to ascertain engineering release need dates and component on-dock need dates

• Experience with managing Make/Buy and Bill of Material (BOM) planning activities associated with Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) transactions

• For facility access reasons, must be a United States citizen
Desired Skills:
• Bachelors degree

• Prior production scheduling background with hands-on experience developing production schedules with Microsoft Project

• Experience analyzing large product structure drawing trees to develop production flows/schedules

• Demonstrated Project Management experience working on initiatives covering a wide scope of production planning and control and/or supply chain activities

• Demonstrated knowledge of program & engineering planning and how production schedules relate to the program Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)

• Experience in a large-capacity production planning role with proven communication and teaming skills

• Demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking skills

• Inventory Control and material handling knowledge

• Project management and Engineering mindset

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
