Lockheed Martin Optical Talent Center is seeking Summer 2025 Electro-Optical Engineer Intern candidates currently enrolled in an accredited degree program in Systems, Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical Engineering or Engineering Physics to participate in an internship assignment. This person will be responsible for working in a multi-disciplinary team focused on electro-optical (EO) payloads for aerospace applications. The candidate will be supporting experienced engineers in the disciplines of Systems, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of EO payloads and will be exposed to multiple areas of technical expertise to provide discriminative capabilities in the area of EO sensing.
Basic Qualifications:
• Actively enrolled in an Engineering or Physics Degree program from an accredited college/university.

• Ability to a scripting language / programming language including Basic, Matlab, PHP, Python, JavaScript, jQuery, or Python

• Must be a US Citizen with ability to obtain a government security clearance.
Desired Skills:
• Demonstrated experience or coursework related to optical sciences and engineering
• Experience with development of optical instruments and performance measurement equipment
• Experience will optical design and related tools (Zemax OpticStudio, CODE V, FRED, etc.)

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $20,904 - $61,672. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
