Salary: $22.00 - $26.00/hr

The ideal York Engineering intern is a highly motivated, proactive individual who enjoys learning and is excited about working on space hardware and real missions.  Each York Space Systems intern has the opportunity to work on York missions, while participating in a tailored engineering training program.  Each intern is provided with a dedicated Senior Engineer as a mentor and is assigned a scope bound project that is challenging yet achievable during the duration of the program.  York encourages you to indicate the engineering discipline(s) you're interested in with your application, this is your opportunity to experience what it would be like to work at York and discover your passion. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Contribute to development of a high-fidelity spacecraft
  • Interface with multiple engineering disciplines and project stakeholders
  • Contribute to design reviews, process improvement and tool development
  • Execute a time bound, well defined project which is of high value to York
  • Gain hands-on assembly and test experience
  • Work with production test teams to quickly and thoroughly resolve production & test anomalies that occur during space vehicle assembly, integration, and test.
  • Perform troubleshooting efforts into electrical subsystems of the space vehicle.
  • Provide electrical-subsystem compatibility and signal-integrity advice  
  • Documentation of issue disposition and process/design improvements for more efficient vehicle AI&T.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Enrollment in a 4-year degree program at an accredited university studying engineering
  • Must have completed at least Freshman year of the degree program
  • Ability to commit to a 40-hour work-week for the duration of the Internship
  • Strong communicator, great team player and overall hard worker
  • Self-starter and self-motivated with a hunger to learn
  • An interest in full time employment at York Space Systems
  • Demonstrated interest in spacecraft and space systems
  • Willing and able to work in our Greenwood Village, CO office (this is not a remote internship)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
 
  • Experience/interest in using standard RF / electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc.
  • Experience/interest in electronic circuit card assembly, inspection, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience/interest in harness assembly and following wiring/PCBA diagrams/schematics.
  • Experience/interest in Altium designer and reading schematic and PCB layout files.
