The Data Scientist is responsible for the development and validation Machine and Deep Learning algorithms and to lead projects based on AI.

The Data Scientist must have a proven hands-on experience (3-5 years working experience on domain) designing and coding enterprise machine learning and deep learning algorithms on multi-platform environment.

Candidate must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment, yet independently able to research, propose technical solutions and lead small teams. He/She is able to deliver multiple assignments independently, and provide technical expertise/mentoring to other team members. He/She should be familiar with agile scrum methodology.

Activities/Responsibilities

  • Development and test of advanced Machine Learning/Deep Learning methods and algorithms applied to spatial and location based challenges in different domains (with particular care to Cognitive Automation use).
  • Lead projects based on AI.
  • Contribute along the full Data Science Lifecycle, from Project Scoping to Model definition and validation.
  • Contribute to progress beyond the state of the art on topics such as, for examples, Explainable AI, Cognitive systems, generation of synthetic training datasets, methodologies to improve the quality of training datasets, anomaly detection.

Competencies:

  • Master Degree in computer science, applied physics, mathematical, data science, engineering.
  • Experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, No/SQL, Java, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
  • Experience in data mining, predictive modelling, machine learning, statistical modelling, large-scale data acquisition, transformation, and cleaning, both structured and unstructured data.
  • Experience in Machine Learning and Deep Learning frameworks (e.g. scikit-learn, mlr, caret, TensorFlow, MXNet, PyTorch, Café, Keras, CNTK, MLlib).
  • Experience with tools in the distributed computing, vGPU (CUDA), cloud platforms and Big Data domains (e.g. GCP, AWS, MS Azure, Hadoop, Spark).
  • Experience in neural networks creation and feeding. Competence in JSON.
  • Examples of domain expertise of interest: predictive modelling, time series forecasting, computer vision, text mining, recommendation systems, segmentation, graph analytics, natural language processing and text analytics.

Further Skills:

  • Generative AI experience is a plus.
  • Strong Mathematical and Physical Knowledge.
  • Proficiency in SQL is required and experience in relational databases/data warehouses. Familiarity with NoSQL data stores is a plus.
  • Experience in managing a data science team.
  • Experience with containerization such as Docker.
  • Experience with dashboards, business intelligence tools, and visualization solutions.
  • Agile way of working.
