Blue Canyon Technologies is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Spacecraft Avionics Intern to join our BCT Summer in Space Internship program. Applicants must be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university. This will be a full-time position for the summer for approximately 11 weeks, starting at the end of May 2025.

 

Title: Spacecraft Avionics Intern

Position Type: Summer Internship

Pay Range: $27.56 or $29.29/hour (Salary rate to be determined by the education - explained in interview)

Location: Lafayette, CO

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • With assistance from a mentor: Develop and maintain technical budgets for spacecraft components.
  • With assistance from a mentor: Develop and manage system requirements and verification techniques.
  • With assistance from a mentor: Develop simulations and perform analysis across vehicle functions.
  • Assist in creating test methods and plans for new developments.
  • Develop, in collaboration with team members, interface specifications, CONOPS definition, and other design documents.
  • Assist with customer meetings and facilitate technical exchanges with customers.
  • Assist with proposals and facilitate technical exchanges with the engineering team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • All candidates must be working towards a bachelor’s or master’s degree must be working towards a degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics Major, or equivalent technical discipline. Undergraduate applicants must have completed the first 3 years of a degree program’s coursework. 
  • Currently pursuing a degree from a four-year university. 
  • Strong ability to work in teams and collaborate with peers and internal customers
  • Strong analytical skills – comfortable working with quantitative and qualitative data
  • Ability to learn new processes quickly and effectively multi-task
  • Effective communication skills; comfortable working in a team environment; high energy and desire to learn.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience through school or extracurricular projects

 

Position Details:

  • Approximate 11 week paid internship (5/27/2025 - 8/8/2025)
  • 40 hours per week
  • No relocation assistance

  

Working Conditions:

This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines.  BCT anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted. However, factors such as candidate flow and business necessity may require BCT to shorten or extend the application window.
