Maxar is seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and motivated imagery specialist/analyst to join the Maxar Marketing team. Maxar is seeking a candidate who is passionate about satellite imagery, geospatial data, mapping, and the stories, information, and answers that can be extracted from them.  A thorough understanding of a wide variety of imagery and/or GIS tools available, manipulation of satellite imagery, import and integration of geospatial data sources to create clear and compelling imagery-based material is a must. This team member should be comfortable in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, loves monitoring the news and current events and is forward-thinking and adaptable to changing technologies. This team member should have their finger on the pulse of Maxar’s imagery and geospatial data capabilities and be energized by collaboration and storytelling through data visualization.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Prepare high quality satellite imagery-based graphics and marketing material for internal and external use
  • Support the Maxar News Bureau to help respond to inbound media requests for satellite imagery and associated material
  • Lead the review of requests, execute on approved academic imagery-in-kind requests, and track the overall number of requests and value for Maxar
  • Create multisource static graphics utilizing both imagery and data to support marketing collateral and to work with educational partners for imagery-based needs
  • Assist with providing imagery expertise to technical product production & development teams as a means of obtaining new products and data types for marketing purposes

Minimum Requirements

  • Strong photo interpretation/imagery analysis skills and ability to produce high-quality imagery graphics from satellite imagery
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to strategically understand and create clear and compelling interactive and static visualizations of complex geospatial data concepts – make the complex simple
  • Proficiency with geospatial visualization tools such as ArcGIS and/or QGIS
  • Experience with relevant Adobe CC tools – Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign etc.

Preferred Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail, initiative, and follow through skills
  • B.A. in a relevant field (satellite imagery analysis and/or geospatial analysis experience)
  • Ability to utilize Maxar processes to research, order, or task satellite imagery
  • Ability to process Maxar satellite imagery for marketing purposes
  • Ability to process Maxar and third-party geospatial data layers for marketing purposes
  • Desire to constantly expand knowledge of emerging geospatial products, capabilities, data sources, processing, and visualization techniques
  • Ability to work within a cross-functional, matrixed organization
  • Excellent time management and customer engagement skills required

We use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range. To accommodate all locations, we have listed the bottom to the top of the possible range, and will share the target range for a specific location during the recruiting discussion. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidates unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:

$53,000.00 - $114,000.00 annually.
