About The Role

Intuitive Machines is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineering Technician to join our team. This position will support the Avionics & Electrical Engineering teams. The applicant will be located on-site in Houston, TX. The candidate will work in a cross-functional team on the design, development, manufacture, test, and on-orbit operation of flight and ground support hardware, such as astronaut crew aids and tools and fluid systems.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take initiative to read through Interface Control Documents to ensure that cables are created correctly after being given the task to create cables for a specific test

  • Work with manufacturing and quality engineers to identify improvements to designs

  • Interact with other design teams, electrical technicians, and the avionics team to coordinate changes

  • Work with suppliers to determine the best design practices and components selection

  • Participate in design, manufacturing readiness, and test readiness reviews

  • Desire to work hands-on with various types of hardware


The candidate will be encouraged to take on as much responsibility as practical and will be expected to play a role in the entire cradle-to-grave development process, including requirements development, conceptualization, supplier relationships, procurement, procedure development, and on-console mission operations support.  

 

Qualifications:

  • Required Education/Experience/Skills: High School Diploma, certifications or Two (2) years of college with courses in related degree, Electrical Engineer, Electronics etc. 

  • 3+ years of experience required.

  • Additional relevant education may be substituted for a portion of the experience. 


Desired Skills:

  • Familiar with Aerospace instrumentation such as solenoid valves, temperature & pressure sensors, DC motors etc. 

  • Proficiency CAD electrical design tools, Altium or other PCB Design Software preferred.

  • Strong understanding of Electrical Engineering concepts with real world circuit design & analyst technique experience

  • Repair electrical systems, wiring, circuit breakers, equipment, and other components, so that

  • they remain at full functioning capacity.

  • Able to read blueprints, technical drawing, and diagrams and follow specifications.

  • Testing of electrical systems with oscilloscopes, voltmeters, and ohmmeters.

  • Experience procuring Class 1 hardware, meeting IPC Space addendum qualifications.

  • Knowledge of best practices for PCB layout for RF, Power & Analog signals. 

Certification Required:

  • We look for current or previous certification under NASA-STD-8739 or IPC-001 Space Addendum.
