Lockheed Martin is looking for an energetic and high performing Systems Engineer to join the team in Boulder or Longmont, Colorado.
This position is in support of the NextGen OPIR program, responsible for system engineering oversight of the mission engineering thread for the program. The role will involve Systems Engineering, Integration and Analysis of the Requirements, Interfaces, and ConOps for IR processing starting from photons collected in space through warning messages transmitted to end users to achieve System Certification and Operational Acceptance.
In this role, you will:
• Perform hands on integration and test of the end to end Mission processing software to demonstrate pre-launch readiness and support system verification and on orbit testing
• Validate pre-launch testing during Early On Orbit test and produce test products and reports for Developmental and Operational testing to allow Operational Acceptance for each space vehicle
• Present integration and performance status for program and customer management
• Conduct mission/program specific real time spacecraft/satellite flight operations during readiness, execution and evaluation phases
• Develop detailed plans and procedures to provide maximum mission support in areas such as mission tasking, mission performance analysis, and reliability, maintainability and dependability of on-orbit satellites
• Utilizes system software to accomplish all mission processing tasks and recommends improvements
• Analyzes and validates software performance
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field.
• Familiarity with design, testing and problem solving for integrated systems
• Current DoD Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI
Desired Skills:
• Experience with SBIRS/NextGen OPIR mission processing, operations, and external users
• Experience with SBIRS/NextGen OPIR constellation command and control and mission management
• Experience with Linux operating systems
• Ability to interact with hardware and software developers to ensure mission requirements are satisfied
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with strong presentation skills and capable of briefing audiences of varying technical knowledge
• Experience with Jira
• Experience with HTML
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build consensus among peers while building solid relationships with team members
• Ability to absorb extensive technical detail and logically formulate solutions for execution on an inflexible schedule, often requiring integration of conflicting and, at times, incomplete data
• Ability to operate in a dynamic environment and take on numerous roles as part of the daily program operations
• Demonstrated behaviors of a systems thinker with the ability to select and apply appropriate systems thinking skills to solve problems and implement constructive change
• Current TS/SCI security clearance

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $55,300 - $106,000. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
