Description:IAM Hourly represented employees who currently work at the main (Sunnyvale/Palo Alto) unit, Santa Cruz, Vandenburg Air Force Base or Eastern Range facilities must apply to open requisitions on Brass Ring to be considered for the position
Inspect government, company and contractor owned ordnance and inert components, parts, assemblies, tools, compounds, raw materials, program support equipment and all types of complex and traceable parts received at and shipped from the facility.
Check receipt and shipping documents and data packages for conformance to company and customer specifications.
Verify compliance to company and customer packaging requirements. Inspect deliverable parts and assemblies for conformance to processing requirements and proper packaging.
Inspect explosive and inert missile parts, components, sub-assemblies and assemblies during receipt and shipment.
Verify proper packaging, identification and documentation accompany receipts and transfers.
Inspect all types of compounds and materials for proper identification and service dates for limited life items.
Verify material specifications and certifications are in compliance with customer and company procedures and policies.
Inspect support equipment hardware received at and shipped from the facility.
Verify ownership status, proper identification and markings/tags.
Verify completion of processing and proper stamping for deliverable equipment.
Verify the accuracy of receiving and shipping documents is in compliance with customer and company procedures and policies and properly identify the material/hardware being
received/shipped.
Validate by stamping and/or electronic data system signature, receipt and shipping documents and accompanying data.
Approve acceptable hardware for receipt and shipment.
Ensure materials are packaged in conformance to specifications prior to shipment.
Reject and impound unacceptable hardware, prepare discrepancy documents and obtain dispositions.
Mark/tag discrepant hardware.
Control access to all impounded materials and hardware.
Verify discrepant hardware leaving the facility is properly identified/tagged and authorized for shipment.
Use information processing systems as required to perform the above tasks and perform related duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
Knowledge of receiving and shipping inspection practices and procedures, including Company and customer specifications.
Read and interpret all types of detailed procedures and specifications that relate to packaging and protection of materials and hardware.
Ability to use inspection aids and instruments in determining acceptability of received and/or shipped hardware.
Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret Security Clearance.
Desired Skills:
Familiarity with SAP ERP system
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Top Secret
