This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration heavy-lift launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to Earth’s orbit and beyond. Engineered with a reusable first stage and a seven-meter payload fairing, New Glenn is building the road to space.

Come join a small, passionate team where you will contribute to the user interface design of Blue Origin’s ground control software. As a UX Designer III, you will shape the user experience for monitoring and controlling our ground support and space vehicle systems. You will collaborate with developers, human factors experts, and mission operators to streamline workflows, articulate user stories, and create high-performance UI designs.

We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Create user workflows, wireframes, interactive prototypes, high-fidelity mockups, digital assets, and detailed UI specifications tailored to operational needs.
  • Conduct user research and analyze data to inform our design decisions.
  • Develop and maintain a design system with implementation guidelines to be referenced by engineers and operators.
  • Present designs and prototypes to users and developers, gather feedback, and iterate on the design to enhance the final product.
  • Establish and advocate for user interface design best practices and standards for operational displays at Blue Origin.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, bootcamp, and/or equivalent years of experience (5+) as a UX Designer.
  • Expertise in Figma or other design tools such as Photoshop, Adobe XD, or Illustrator.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment and directly with users and developers.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey strong rationale for design decisions.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with coding languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, or Qt/QML.
  • Previous experience designing for desktop applications.

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $141,480.00-$198,072.00

Other site ranges may differ

Paid Time Off:  Up to four (4) weeks per year based on weekly scheduled hours, and up to 14 company-paid holidays.

Discretionary bonus: Bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
