Virgin Galactic is seeking a talented and motivated Engineer/Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will be able to perform the Responsibilities of the position and meet many of the Knowledge/Experience requirements.  You bring your talent and experience and will have the opportunity learn from on-the-job training. Responsibilities

  • Develop process assurance plans and standards based on 14 CFR Part 450 regulations and other industry standards.
  • Ensure that project communications, coordination and sequencing, and progress monitoring mechanisms are defined and are followed.
  • Work with teams to modify and correct processes to meet the objectives of the safety program.  This task will involve auditing processes to ensure they are complete and correct to internal safety policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure that change control, operational, and maintenance programs are defined and are followed.
  • Perform process assurance audits for safety mitigations to ensure they are implemented and remain effective as hazard controls.
  • Audit configuration, change management process, and problem report resolutions.
  • Act as a monitor and liaison between the safety organization and regulatory team to ensure safety assessment changes propagate to operator license documentation to enable regulatory compliance.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics field.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in Safety/Quality/Chemical or a process assurance related field. (An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered for this role).
  • Familiarity with system safety processes, or equivalent, and how that integrates with engineering design and development processes like what is described in SAE ARP 4754A and 4761 is a plus.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of FAA commercial space regulations preferred, CFR §400.
  • Project management skills
  • Flight operations experience within an aerospace organization
  • Previous OEM aircraft manufacturing or overhaul operations experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have above-average software: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook

The annual U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $85,900.00–$131,050.00. The base pay actually offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, and experience and take into account internal equity. Other forms of pay (e.g., bonus or long term incentive) may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
