Sr Principal Software Systems Engineer

Maxar is seeking solutions-oriented Sr Principal Software Systems Engineer to work in an agile and fast paced customer environment supporting a user base with a mission to solve unique and challenging problems in support of national security.  The ideal candidate possesses agile application development, testing, deployment, integration, and operations experience supporting program intelligence exploitation capabilities. 

• Assess technical solutions provided by developers and provide recommendations to the team and government customer  
• Provide technical input into full project lifecycle execution including: ConOps, requirements development and definition, feature estimation, oversight of system design and developer implementation, systems integration, verification, and test (IVT), data interface integration, and operational support. 
• Monitor and understand high level operational geospatial processes.  
• Test and evaluate new system capabilities 
• Adapt the SAFe Agile processes to our project requirements and collaboratively plan and execute our Sprint and Program Increments as Release Train Engineer.  
• Manage Agile artifacts and coach/lead the Agile Release Train to meet client needs
• Support the process of building or documenting discovery and automation tools to enable geospatial and intelligence analysis of complex problems utilizing an array of data types and sources.  
• Create enablers and communicate with multidisciplinary teams and articulate technical concepts and ideas effectively.  

Required Skills:

• ​Minimum of 20 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 15 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 12 years experience
• Expert Agile mindset with experience or certifications with agile, scrum, kanban, SAFe, scrum master techniques 
• Familiarity with concepts such as data visualization; data management, data integration, user interface, databases 
• Can work independently in a fast-paced dynamic environment, with factory reach-back support. 

$145,000.00 - $307,000.00 annually.

Additionally, this position is incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and/or individual results achieved; the specific incentive plan and target amount will be determined based on the role and breadth of contributions.
