SUMMARY

The Materials and Processes team use their skills and expert knowledge to ensure all materials used meet the highest standards. The test technicians are responsible for ensuring that materials are manufactured and tested to the highest standards. We are looking for the right person, whether that is someone with twenty years of lab experience or someone with the right skills and attitude, but who has never set foot in a lab.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain quality standards and requirements through testing and analysis of results.
  • Prepare test specimens in accordance with Firefly, aerospace, or customer requirements.
  • Perform routine physical, chemical, and mechanical testing as required.
  • Update test logs and reports and report any issues to supervisor.
  • Maintain laboratory environment, including general housekeeping, preventative maintenance, and equipment calibration.
  • Assist manufacturing and perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Minimum of two years experience in either a laboratory or manufacturing environment.
  • Good communication skills and works well in a team environment
  • Self starter with good attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products

Desired

  • Candidates with previous material testing experience in any of these fields: Metallurgy, Composites, Chemical, Thermal or other related life sciences.
  • Candidates without laboratory experience should have hands-on experience in related laboratory processes, such as: Machining, composite layup and curing, data entry, electronics assembly, inspector roles such as quality or receiving.
