SUMMARY

We are currently seeking a proactive Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our Facilities Equipment Maintenance team. This role is essential in addressing and resolving stakeholder inquiries and concerns promptly and effectively, ensuring high levels of satisfaction. The technician will be responsible for performing necessary repairs and ongoing maintenance on diverse manufacturing equipment. This includes electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, along with corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance tasks.

As a key point of contact, the Equipment Maintenance Technician will act as a first responder to stakeholder needs, assessing and determining the most effective solutions. They will collaborate closely with our internal facilities department and external contractors to maintain operational efficiency. This position requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering quality outcomes in a safe and timely manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Proactively respond to equipment issues by assessing problems, taking appropriate actions, and maintaining clear communication with all involved parties.
  • Adjust, repair, replace, or modify system components and sub-systems to maintain continuous operation.
  • Conduct regular preventive maintenance on all process support equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Adhere to environmental, safety, quality, and manufacturer’s guidelines during maintenance procedures. Initiate corrective actions and escalate compliance issues as needed.
  • Minimize production disruptions while supporting improvement initiatives for installations and equipment.
  • Monitor the performance and condition of machinery, assess the quality of spare parts, and oversee work conducted by external contractors.
  • Accurately complete computerized work order documentation to maintain a detailed work history and track parts inventory.
  • Ensure a safe work environment by identifying and addressing potential safety issues related to assembly and material-handling equipment or the facility itself.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Minimum of five years of experience in equipment maintenance, facilities maintenance, or operations support.
  • Proficient knowledge of equipment sub-systems, including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, vacuum, and emergency protection systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical diagrams, and complex automated system drawings.
  • Experienced in using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Skilled in operating heavy machinery such as skytraks, forklifts, scissor lifts, as well as support equipment like overhead and gantry cranes.
  • Proficient with various maintenance tools, both hand and power.
  • Committed to maintaining a safe work environment by identifying and rectifying potential safety issues related to production and material-handling equipment.
  • Capable of handling emergencies independently and with limited supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to make informed decisions, resolve issues effectively, and recognize when issues need to be escalated.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills, capable of handling challenging situations and solving problems confidently.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to interact professionally with co-workers, vendors, and individuals from diverse professional backgrounds.
  • Physical requirements include frequent standing, walking, use of hands, climbing, and carrying ladders. Must be able to sit, stand, and perform repetitive hand actions for extended periods.

Desired

  • Experience with production support equipment such as CNC mills/lathes, autoclaves, Kuka robots, Automated Fiber Placement, etc.
  • Understanding of PLC’s and automation control sub-systems.
  • Military experience a plus.
