Job description
VG is seeking a talented and motivated Avionics Engineering Technician (AET) to join our Avionics team. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience working hands-on with avionics systems, aircraft wiring harness and electrical/mechanical installations in a lab setting. The AET works within the Avionics Engineering team to support development, testing, and maintenance of avionics systems. The AET is distinct from a production technician in that they perform assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed, selects or adapts standard procedures or equipment, using fully applicable precedents, receives initial instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from supervisor or engineer as needed, and performs recurring work independently. Work is reviewed for technical adequacy or conformity with instructions.
Responsibilities
- Electronics, wiring, and test bench assembly in a lab setting
- Review and provide feedback on proposed engineering designs
- Assembly of avionics test benches per Engineering specification and requirements
- Maintenance and troubleshooting of lab hardware
- Aircraft wiring harnesses assembly
- Prototype Hardware
- Assemble circuit boards
- Assemble breadboard and deadbug circuits
- PCB design for prototypes and lab hardware
- Avionics lab maintenance and upkeep
- Equipment organization and checkout
- Maintenance and stock of electrical components parts kits
- Electronic flight hardware assembly, rework, and modification
- Supervision of short term contract support when peak times demand
Required Skills and Experience
- 10 or more years of relevant avionics or electrical technician experience
- Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and written communication skills
The annual U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $58,240.00–$83,200.00. The base pay actually offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, and experience and take into account internal equity. Other forms of pay (e.g., bonus or long term incentive) may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
