Job description
ALL.SPACE are seeking a Product Assurance Engineer to join the Product Assurance / Quality Team. This is a great opportunity to join the company at a key point in its development and to become a key contributor in developing and delivering a high-tech innovative product to the market.
The main purpose of the role will be the performance and reporting of EMC & environmental testing of satellite communication terminals and associated components and sub-assemblies. This will include confirmation of the test configuration, delivery and accompanying test terminals to and from external test houses including set-up and monitoring of the test regime. Collation and compilation of test data and reports for ALL.SPACE and external stakeholders
Requirements
- Performing product testing to high standards, as defined by ALL.SPACE procedures and in accordance with recognized national and international standards
- Conducting testing using in-house test facilities and equipment
- Identifying issues and engaging with stakeholders to find timely and effective resolution
- Providing input, feedback and improvement suggestions on test plan content and test configuration / set-up
- Delivering timely and accurate data and reporting of test completion and outcome
- Supporting customer witnessed testing activities
- Seeking opportunities for improving ways of working, doing things better, cheaper, and/or faster whilst maintaining reliability and quality
- To establish healthy working relationships with key stakeholders and become a trusted partner
- Ensure compliance with defined operational safety controls and contribute to risk assessments and safety improvements
Essential skills and experience required:
- 2+ years EMC/environmental testing experience with electronics / telecommunication products
- Knowledge of MIL-STD-461 and MIL-STD-810
- Practical experience of setting up and conducting EMC/environmental tests for aerospace / defence /commercial product(s)
- Proficient user of bench top test equipment
- Must be detail focused but with the ability to multitask, and manage own deliverables
- Confident with working across multifunctional teams and good communicator to senior and junior colleagues both verbally and in writing
- Must be a team player and have good interpersonal skills, able to influence others by example and setting high standards
- Experienced user of Microsoft office tools, able to manipulate and analyse data within excel
- Comfortable travelling to various test houses around the UK to perform testing
- UK driving license
Desirable:
- Experience with CE/FCC marking process
- NVQ level 3 or equivalent in engineering or technical discipline
- Experience of working with electrodynamic shakers and thermal chambers
Ā Additional Notes:
Based at Portman Road but may be required to spend periods of time off-site at external test houses (project dependent).
