As an Inventory Manager, you will play a critical role in our logistics and supply chain team, overseeing the efficient management and distribution of materials essential for our satellite production. Your leadership will be vital in ensuring that the data within the organization is healthy, inventory levels are optimized, material flow is seamless, and operational needs are met across the organization. You will be responsible for managing the entire lifecycle of materials—from procurement to storage to kit for assembly to delivery—while upholding our rigorous quality standards and production timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Improvement: Design and implement enhancements within material management operations. Propose and drive innovative solutions to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize resource utilization.
- Material Oversight: Manage the storage and distribution of raw materials and components. Ensure materials are accurately identified, stored, and accessible to support production operations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to forecast material needs, address supply chain challenges, ensure proper accounting of materials, and ensure timely delivery of components to meet production schedules.
- Inventory Control: Monitor and manage inventory levels, implementing best practices for inventory rotation and accuracy. Conduct regular audits and cycle counts to maintain integrity within the inventory management system.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal procedures regarding material handling, storage, and documentation. Inspect incoming materials for quality and accuracy against specifications.
- Data Integrity: Provide the inter-disciplinary teams with precise and timely inventory data, ensuring accuracy and clarity for effective financial analysis and reporting. This will include data management on raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor inventory specialists, fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field/experience
- 6+ years of experience in material management or inventory control
- Proven ability to drive process improvement and lead a cross-functional team
- Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
- Proficiency in Excel
Desired Qualifications:
- 9+ years of experience in material management within a manufacturing or warehouse environment
- Expertise in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle)
- Familiarity with industry regulations and best practices in material handling and storage
- Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
