Internship conversion position for the Software Systems and Acquisitions Department within the Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD). This position will be located at in Chantilly, VA.
Job Summary
We help turn science fiction into fact every day! Working across the entire space enterprise, the Software Systems and Acquisitions Department provides the DoD, Intelligence Community, NASA, NOAA, commercial entities, and foreign partners with the critical software expertise they need to develop new systems. Our customers need your help to acquire cutting-edge software capabilities to enable the future!
Work Model:
This position will be located 100% onsite in Chantilly, VA. Some remote work may be possible. Some overnight travel may be required.
What You’ll Be Doing
Applying software engineering expertise to space, launch, ground, and related systems
Prototyping software solutions and infrastructure to demonstrate feasible solutions to complex challenges
Supporting research and development regarding software systems ranging from embedded computing environment to cloud computing environments
Participating with an interdisciplinary team in ongoing research or technical programs with academic collaboration partners.
Applying standard techniques and procedures to carry out a series of prescribed scientific and/or engineering tasks
Duties, responsibilities and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned as needed
Training and mentorship will be provided

What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer/Electrical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college/university program to be conferred within 12 months
Minimum GPA of 3.0
Prior internship at The Aerospace Corporation
Experience designing, writing, testing, and fielding software systems, web-based applications, and/or cloud-based solutions
Familiarity with agile software development practices
Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
Proficiency in C/C++, Java, Python, or equivalent
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
