Enterprise Effects Division Description

The Enterprise Effects Division (EED) drives integration of Aerospace’s strategic capabilities across the national space enterprise. The division leverages a broad array of engineering disciplines against a diverse and dynamic portfolio of programs, customers, and national challenges. EED spans the capability lifecycle from concept and architecture design to performance assessment to application of space-enabled mission effects.

Enterprise Design Subdivision Description

The Enterprise Design Subdivision (EDS) designs solutions that meet our customer’s most pressing mission needs and yield asymmetric space advantages for the nation. As a member of this dynamic team, you’ll drive responsive and comprehensive trades across the system, mission, and portfolio levels. You’ll collaborate across disciplines, leveraging concurrent engineering and multi-objective optimization capabilities to design space, ground, and communication network concepts and architectures. You’ll innovate, not only with bespoke designs, but also harnessing the best capabilities from commercial and international partners. You’ll ask the right questions to expand decision options and accelerate delivery of mission end effects.

Work Model

  • This position is eligible for a hybrid work model, subject to the needs of specific customer and organizational needs.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Refine workflows, develop talent, and help build a robust direct customer support portfolio in systems architecting and mission engineering, in close partnership with the leadership Architecture Concepts Department, the Mission Engineering Department, and the Portfolio Analysis Department.
  • Provide national-caliber expertise to priority customer projects in systems architecting, by developing and empowering enterprise integration leaders.
  • Develop the subdivision’s talent development training program for systems architecting, leveraging technologies to make these learning resources available on-demand.
  • Serve as an expert consultant and instructor on systems architecting methods across the Enterprise Effects Division, partnering with personnel assigned to the Enterprise Integration Solutions Office.

What You Need to be Successful

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited program.
  • Significant demonstrated experience leading cross-disciplinary, cross-organizational teams.
  • Expert-level experience in systems architecting with emphasis on USG (DoD, IC, and civil) customer space missions.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and multi-disciplinary collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated success in tacit knowledge transfer and technical leader development.
  • Proficiency with office and collaboration tools, such as MS Office
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS//SCI security clearance.
  • Occasional domestic travel may be required.

How You Can Stand Out

  • Advanced degree(s) in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited program.
  • Significant experience teaching systems architecting methods and processes
  • Prior experience in a chief architect or similar technical leadership role for a major acquisition program.
  • Deep understanding of how space-based communications enable closure of end-to-end mission capabilities / effects chains. Significant experience in boundary-spanning leadership across stakeholders to formulate end-to-end solutions.
